OF all the safety components in a new or used car, the brakes are probably the most important.
So when it comes time to replace your brakes or to simply get them checked make sure you take it to the experts at Brakepro.Brakepro is Wollongong's only licensed brake repairer and with experienced staff, extensive knowledge and all the latest equipment - why would you go anywhere else? While they are certainly the experts in brakes, brakes are not their only area of expertise, Brakepro also offers a range of other services including rego checks, tune ups, general repairs, logbook servicing and clutches.Workshop manager Bruce Benoit has over 20 years experience and is considered as one of the top mechanics in the Illawarra area."We have the knowledge and the years of experience behind us so we certainly know what we are doing," manager Terry Sense said."We only use parts and products that we have tried and tested in our own cars. They are products that we know are trustworthy, reliable and will do the job well."In order to give their customers the highest level of automotive care, Brakepro has recently acquired two new pieces of testing equipment for the workshop - an Ultrascan Plus scan tool and a PlateTronic Safe-T-Test brake tester.Mr Sense said the brake tester is great if someone thinks they may have a problem with their brakes."It gives us a read out of whats wrong and we can pinpoint exactly whether it's the front, back, left or right brake that isn't functioning properly," he said. The Ultrascan Plus scan tool reads the car's computer, and can also operate and check ABS brakes."It reads the brains of the vehicle, it's like an ECG machine for your car. It reads any fault codes, so we know what needs to be fixed," Mr Benoit said."Everything is computerised these days so we can use it to test things like the horn, lights, windows and we can also use it for key coding."The Ultrascan helps us to quickly and efficiently find anything that is wrong with your car and fix it so your car runs the way it should."Along with a high level of service in the workshop, the friendly team at BrakePro guarantee that they are always upfront and honest with their clients."We want people to continue coming back here. If someone brings their car in and it doesn't need a repair done, we will certainly tell them rather than doing it and charging them unnecessarily," Mr Sense said. Brakepro also operates a sales department where they sell commercial and industrial brakes, hydraulics, oil filters, clutches and suspension parts. Brakepro is located at 38 Ellen St, Wollongong.
